Located 5-10 miles from downtown Traverse City, Blair Township is the fastest growing area of Traverse City. The growth in the area is centered around Chums Corners, which is one of the prime commercial/industrial corridors in the region.
Housing in the area includes the high end homes on the southern half of Silver Lake, newer subdivisions around Chums Corners, and South Creek, which is the largest subdivision in Traverse City. The more rural southern portions of the Township are part of the communities of Kingsley and Grawn.
In addition to recreation opportunities at Silver Lake, Blair Township is home to Turtle Creek Stadium, which is home to the Traverse City Pit Spitters baseball team as well as other entertainment programming.
Blair Township is split between the Traverse City Central and West High School, with the southern portion of the townhip located in the Kingsley district.
