The City of Traverse City is the commercial and cultural center of Northwest Michigan. Downtown Traverse City attracts visitors from all over the country and the world. In addition to the shops and business of Downtown, Munson Medical Center and Northwestern Michigan College are located within the city limits. Located on the south end of Grand Traverse Bay and home to sugard sand beaches and world class restaurants, Traverse City hosts the National Cherry Festival and the Traverse City Film Festival.
Traverse City is home to many of the areas most sought after neighborhoods, including the Central Neighborhood, Slabtown, Kids Creek, and the Washington Street area. Consisting largely of older homes, these properties often receive multiple offers shortly after hitting the market. The housing stock in other neighborhoods, including the base of the Old Mission Peninsula, is of more recent vintact and includes starter homes up to multimillion dollar waterfront properties.
